Bad games are bad no matter where they are made, says Platinum
Platinum Games’ Jean Kellams took to Twitter yesterday evening to say the issue with Japanese games at the moment isn’t the fact it’s from Japan, as a bad game is a bad game no matter where it comes from. “The problems with Japanese games aren’t that they are JPN games or that they are Westernised games. “The problems with JPN games are simple: Most of them aren’t very good games. People don’t buy those. Most games from anywhere aren’t good. That’s why exceptional means exceptional.”

yes true.
also many Japanese games that do no get ported are basically bad games Westerns will not enjoy.
I just bought Malicious and it’s not an interesting game, now I know why it took ages to be ported because fair of dislike.
Game is worth under £3!

Or perhaps you just have bad taste.
Malicious is a great little game with some really nice ideas. The combination of shooter brawler and boss rush works very nicely as a downloadable title.
See I would import Anarchy Reigns in a heartbeat because the entire thing is ready to go, localisation wise but its just so expensive.

#2 But Anarchy Reigns is also coming to western shores right?
I think this generation we have a plenty selection of great japaneses tittles, of course it will be a very few tittles that are not that good, but overall it has been top quality tittles, especially from this developer, truth be told the quantity is not like in the past generation, thats for sure, but the quality tittles were great as always has been the case with Japanese tittles.

@7 Hahaha.
I think it’s probably inferring the exact opposite; that it’s a testament to quality.

@8 Ah that’s ok then. Bayonetta was one of those games which I played start to end without ever having a clue what I was doing. Loved it all the same. Whacky nonsensical over the top fun.
