PES dev on FIFA: “Maybe EA thinks they’ve gone far enough with gameplay”
Brit PES head John Murphy’s told OPM UK EA may have stopped innovating with FIFA’s gameplay, saying the company may now be looking to broaden its audience in different ways.
He said: “We always focused on gameplay and that’s what we want to get back to. Maybe EA thinks they’ve gone far enough with gameplay and they’ve got other things to do – maybe they want to attract a different kind of audience with different features.
“But I’ve always thought it’s right that we should be concentrating really hard on the way you play a game against someone else, and that unique PES feeling, which is all about gameplay.”

Agreed this time.
FIFA 12 was like some beta version of the game. They just gave up and exposed the gameplay sliders like shooting accuracy, so we could do it ourself.
There were way too many problems, and Tactical Defending ruined the game when it was supposed to improve it.

i am no big Fifa fan but Fifa 12 was a significant jump in quality over 11, the new defending worked great and actually gave me a chance against a few of my friends who are normally Fifa obsessed experts, the gameplay trumps anything that Pro Evo has done in the last 6 years.
They need to quit this whinging and slagging off and just get on with making their game half as good as what EA are doing with Fifa.
