EVE faction warfare exploit addressed, players punished with rollback

CCP has decided to punish the five EVE Online players who used a faction warfare exploit in Inferno to garner 5 trillion ISK, which equates to $175,000. The players reported the exploit, but only after using it for a two week period. CCP has decided the players’ accounts will remain in good standing, but anything attained through the exploit will be removed from their in-game accounts. This will roll the players back to where they were before they used the exploit. Thanks, Massively.

Wow two weeks wasted on it. That is a LOT of real-world dough though, I knew they wouldn’t stand around and let them get away with it.

CCP are a funny bunch. They love to watch the players destroy each other, steal, lie and cheat their way through the game, but the minute that they are affected by one of these ‘exploits’ they get all high and mighty about it and start throwing their weight around.

they like to profess the economy is free form and player-led, but ultimately it seems it’s actually very carefully controlled, with the illusion of control given to players. Shame.
