Carmen Sandiego headed to the big screen, Jennifer Lopez eyeing off leading role

A big-screen adaptation of the classic computer game Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? is in the works with Jennifer Lopez reportedly eyeing off the leading role as the world's greatest detective.

In a Hollywood Reporter exclusive, it is reported that Lopez is attached to the project as a producer and is also "eyeing it as a starring vehicle".

Darren Lemke, whose previous writing credits include Shrek Forever After and Bryan Singer’s upcoming Jack the Giant Killer, is currently penning the story.

The rights to the license were opened in late 2011 by Walden Media, with the production company intending for the adaptation to be "a cross between Thomas Crown Affair and National Treasure."
