The Last of Us will not have co-op in the main campaign
Naughty Dog has reiterated that multiplayer in The Last of Us will not constituted co-op in the main campaign between Joel and Ellie. Speaking with Gaming Examiner, game director Neil Druckmann, however, promised multiplayer support for the title was in the works, but he failed to elaborate on what it would entail. The firm’s Uncharted series contained various multiplayer modes outside of the core game, so it’s possible gamers may see both competitive and cooperative in some capacity. Thanks, Shack.

But there are many players like to play on coop for story mode.

This implies that the game play is heavily scripted around the actions of the companion.

Good. Lots of games already cater for coop. Personally I quite like a focused single player game without the need for constant AI companions being rubbish (see Dom-AI). I don’t think coop would work here when story is a big factor.

#2 If you want to be a pessimist then maybe.
Nobody complained about the lack of co-op in the main campaigns of the Uncharted Series. We don’t yet know what form the multiplayer part of the game will take, and why should multiplayer gameplay be crammed in to everything?
Anyway I think this is good news, less focus on “WOW play with your fwiends!!” and more on a balanced single player campaign

There will be coop…In last of us 2.
This is probably already ambitious for them.

Strongly disagree. A semi horror game like this HAS to be played alone.
Anyway, an awesome game just got more awesome. Seriously, even with 2 characters, the survival horror games like this were meant to be played solo.

The partner in RE5 was a fully capable fighter who could be controlled by AI or a real person. It would play just like the normal Chris (Hero / Warrior). It was having two fully trained, full capable soldiers in a fight which would instantly turn it into Army of Two, Gears and such.
In The Last of Us, the second character (Girl) will is vulnerable, doesn’t have guns, is not capable, is not able to fight like the normal character and finally, is a child. Closest thing to this would be Claire / Leon helping the child in RE2 or something like Enslaved where the second character needs to be protected.

I laughed. All Sheeva was for when not controlled by a real reason was for holding my herbs and ammo because that’s all she was good for.

Annette Scherer.” Heavens! what a violent outburst!” the prince responded, not in the least disconcerted at such a reception. He was wearing an embroidered court uniform, stockings burberry accessories and slippers, and had stars on his breast, and a bright smile on his flat face. He spoke in that elaborately choice French, in which our forefathers not only spoke but thought, and with those slow, patronising burberry bags intonations peculiar to a man of importance who has grown old in court society. He went up to Anna Pavlovna, kissed her hand, presenting her with a view of his perfumed, shining bald head, and burberry outlet online sale complacently settled himself on the sofa.CF
