It’s a man thing: the trouble with Tomb Raider
Don’t miss the point, says Patrick Garratt. The travails surrounding Lara’s reinvention are to do with triple-A’s obsession with men and violence, not women and sex.

ESRB ratings suggest GTA III, Vice City headed to PSN
As spotted by PSNStores, the ESRB has re-rated Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Both titles are listed with PlayStation 3 as platform and Sony Computer Entertainment America as publisher, suggesting a PlayStation Network release. The lack of a double pack listing suggests we’re probably looking at PS2 Classics re-releases rather than HD makeovers. I’ve sent Rockstar a gleeful fangirl email so fingers crossed for an official update soon.

Mario Marathon raises over $68K for charity
If you haven’t checked it out already, drop by the Mario Marathon, where a team of ten has, at time of writing, raised $68,603.21 and signed up for up to 786 levels from a range of Super Mario Bros. games. They’ve been at it for close to two and a half days and are over half way through, with only 60 levels still unpaid for by generous (and possibly sadistic) observers. All funds accrued will be channeled into Child’s Play’s coffers.
Thanks, Joystiq.

NHL 13 cover vote selects Claude Giroux
The votes are in and counted; Claude Giroux will grace the cover of NHL 13. He’s a man who plays sports. Apparently he plays them pretty well; he is the “forward” for the Philadelphia Flyers. I have nothing to add to this information, but you can watch a video about it through the break.

Report – Blizzard registrant secures StarCraft.com
Fusible reports the domain name StarCraft.com may finally be the property of Blizzard, 15 years after the first game’s release. The domain recently changed hands and was re-registered to Mark Monitor, which has acquired several domains for Blizzard in the past. There doesn’t seem to have been a legal challenge so whoever the new owner is, they probably shelled out to kick off the RV buyer’s guide and boat site owners. Don’t rush off to take a look just yet; the domain hasn’t been updated yet, and it’s hosting some pretty dodgy-looking stuff.
