Video: Spec Ops multiplay leaves blood on the sand

With Spec Ops: The Line releasing worldwide next week, Sam Clay takes a long look at the desert-based shooter’s online play. Sand may be involved.

Three maps are shown off here, two in the desert and one in what appears to be a nightclub. Multiplay is straight-up TPS action with a variety of modes – only DeathMatch is shown in the video – but there’s a ton of variety on offer both in the environments and features. Sandstorms, for example, will obscure vision and knock out mini-maps.

Take a look. The game’s a military adventure set in a ruined Dubai. Spec Ops: The Line releases on June 26 in the US and internationally on June 29 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Played the demo on XBL, thought this game reeked of meh, tbh. I didn’t find anything special about it and certainly nothing that would convince me to buy it day one… or ever.

So many HUD elements!

The HUD is terrible… Especially since the “LEADER” score doesn’t even change colors when the player IS the leader. Hahahaha, terrible design.

The game is very boring none the less, I am really only interested in the story. Probably pick it up for $5 on Steam.

Hey Sam. Do you know if there is a “local only” search filter?
