Stranger’s Wrath to get 3D, Move support, XBLA release canned
Just Add Water has announced a significant update to the PlayStation Network release of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD, but also gently let down those hoping for an Xbox Live Arcade showing.
The developer had been cagey about the XBLA release for some months, but Stranger’s Wrath’s position in the Xbox pantheon – as a much-touted exclusive on the first console – had us holding out hope. Unfortunately, a spokesperson told commenters on the game’s official site that “the boat has really passed on that one”.
“We’re winding up development on Stranger’s Wrath HD and Munch’s Oddysee HD. Blame Microsoft for not letting us publish on Xbox 360,” he said.
PS3 owners are in a much happier position. As further detailed in the linked post, the patch is due in next week’s PlayStation Network update, and adds the following features.
- 3DTV support
- PlayStation Move support
- Video recording and uploading
- Brightness & Gamma controls
- Audio fixes
- Increased crosshair visibility
- Fixed Quicksaves and Autosaves
- Extra subtitles (English, French, Italian, German and Spanish)
- Performance Improvements
