Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance DLC plans include playable characters, missions

Platinum Games has significant post-launch content plans for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the action spin off to Kojima Productions' stealth epic series.

Although no specific details were given, producer Yuji Kurekado outed DLC plans during a GTTV-filmed roundtable at E3 2012.

"We do have plans for some download content after the release from the game that will allow you to play maybe as a different character or some new missions," the developer said.

Sounds good, but unfortunately the news came hot on the heels of confirmation that we won't be taking Raiden's sword into head-to-head battles with other players.

"We don’t have any plans for competitive online play or anything like that,” Kurekado said.

The GTTV video was posted during E3 week, with Gamerzines apparently the first to spot this interesting nugget, which went under the radar at the time.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is expected on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 early next year.
