Humble Bundle V closes with over $5 million raised

The Humble Bundle V has now closed. The pack of eight games and five soundtracks pulled in 598,949 purchases with a total of $5,106,380.63 paid. The average joe paid $8.53, with platform-specific averages showing Linux buyers, as usual, a little more flush in the pocket than their Mac and PC brethren. The usual bidding war for top donation ended with Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson in second place behind the Humble Brony Bundle initiative. The Humble Bundle scheme supports independent developers and charitable causes, so well done everyone.

I approve of this banner, and that initiative.

I don’t get that Humble Brony stuff… Why are they doing that and people supporting it? Why not buy the Humble Indie Bundle directly?

… but overall, I’m happy that they did crack those 5M after all. I hoped they would. More power to indie!
