Humble Bundle V in final day

Thursday, 14th June 2012 05:32 GMT By Brenna Hillier

At time of writing, you only have 18 hours left to take advantage of the Humble Bundle V, which gathers together some smashingly good indie classics for as much money as you care to pay. Currently, if you pony up anything over $8.50 you’ll score eight games instead of four, which is a sweet deal indeed. All games are DRM-free and cross-platform; you can decide how much of your payment goes to charity; and you’ll get a couple of ace soundtracks as well. Over 570,000 sterling gamers have taken part in this scheme already, bringing in over $$4,860,000.

Seriously people, buy this thing. Even if it’s only a couple of games you don’t have… the selection is so good that you’d have to be certifiably stupid to ignore it. And I really mean that. There’s something for everyone in this bundle – even me.

I usually don’t go for games as much as I used to because I’m suffering with a sizeable dose of soul sickness. I’m tired of the lack of imagination and wonder in games, today. It’s like… games just restrict themselves to doing the very minimum in regards to creativity, and never go beyond that. But Psychonauts harks back to a time when games didn’t have this problem, and Bastion shows the promise of indie gaming today.

So there really is something there for everyone. And you really are a bloody-minded fool if you miss out on this!

Thanks for reminding me to pick this up. Not planning on playing any of them right now, but it’s worth a few bucks to add them to my Steam library in preparation for a rainy day.

I wonder whether they’ll be able to make more than 5M. Looking good so far :)
