Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion trailer makes one man cry rainbows

Or so he says.  The standalone expansion to 2008′s incredible space strategy game looks rather amazing – so good it may make you cry rainbows.

What makes Sins so good?  Maybe it’s the graphics, maybe it’s the gameplay, or maybe it’s the uncanny philosophy of Stardock CEO Brad Wardell:

“What I think has made Sins of a Solar Empire such a phenomenon is that it demonstrated that you can have a real-time strategy game that rewards victory to the player who has built the better civilization, rather than the player with the best reflexes”

Clearly Brad is not Korean.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is available today on Steam and other space friendly digital outlets.

I think we know at least one man who’ll be picking it up.

Too much war in these titles, for me. I’d love for there to be a space game like Civilisation, though, where diplomacy can play more of a role.

Have you ever played Sins of a Solar Empire before? There is a specific research tree that deals with planet upgrades and trade with allies and have a diplomatic victory.

Seeing this just makes me wish someone would bring back Masters of Orion, Star Control and Ascendency even more.

While you’re at it, how about an Imperium Galactica 3?
