Slant Six Games has laid off a quarter of its total work force, although the developer hopes to re-hire the affected staffers.

GameInformer reports Slant Six has issued redundancies to 26 of its 96 employees.

“Regretfully, we can confirm that there have been some temporary layoffs at our studio. We must stress that these are temporary layoffs, which means we are working very hard on new business prospects so we can reinstate every single person affected,” the Vancouver studio said in a statement.

“As an independent and close-knit studio, it is a very difficult but necessary business measure due to the current project cycle demands.”

Slant Six’s last release was Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City, which fell flat critically despite shipping 2 million units.

The team is currently working on an unannounced “collaborative game venture with a major publisher” and a self-published arcade flight sim called Strata Scavenger, due next year.

    “these people are good devs”

They might be good people, but they are NOT good devs. Look at their history. Not one decent game among them.
