Sledgehammer working on Call of Duty game

A job listing has confirmed that Sledgehammer Games is developing a new Call of Duty game.

The ad posted on the studio's website, reveals that it's looking for a Senior FX artist to help "create the most exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for [its] next Call of Duty game".

It also wants candidates to have "solid professional experience and knowledge of the limitations and performance of current generation hardware (360, PS3)," which means that the new game might be in development for the current gen consoles.

It's unclear whether Sledgehammer is working on an independent title or contributing to cross-studio efforts. Sledgehammer Games' last Call of Duty effort came in the form of helping Infinity Ward in developing Modern Warfare 3, which released in November last year.

Treyarch is developing this year's Call of Duty release - Black Ops II - which will launch in November 13, 2012.
