Rumor – Mass Effect 3: Earth MP extension info leaks

Saturday, 9th June 2012 21:33 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Reddit tipster derptemp6698 has posted another Mass Effect 3 leak, this time detailing the upcoming multiplayer extension Earth.

According to the user, which is the same person who had details on the Mass Effect: Rebellion Pack before it was outed by Sony Hong Kong, Mass Effect 3: Earth will contain the following:

“The fighting is fiercest when it’s your home at stake! Mass Effect 3™: Earth adds mods, gear, and new maps for Rio, Vancouver, and London. It features 3 new weapons: Piranha assault shotgun, Acolyte pistol, and Typhoon light machine gun. Six new human N7 classes are also available: Destroyer, Paladin, Demolisher, Slayer, Shadow, and Fury!”

No information regarding a release date for the upcoming multiplayer extension was provided.

Another bit of Mass Effect 3 DLC, The Extended Cut, which aims to address player complaints that the core game’s ending didn’t reflect personal choices, will be released for free sometime this summer.

That list of n7 classes are a complete fabrication, which I’d guess means the rest is rubbish too.

That’s why I hate multiplayer in general, instead of releasing DLCs complementing the singleplayer aspect they just keep releasing multiplayer maps and skins…just like COD.

This is not news. “Free summer release” was announced at the very beginning along with the EC DLC itself.

@2 At least you’re not paying for the additional maps, weapons and classes in Mass Effect 3.

@1: Information so far, as silly as it has sounded (Remember “Phoenix?) has been proven to be 100% correct. People didn’t believe Asari Adept would be class on that facebook screen either. There are some pretty steady leaks on all ME3 MP DLC.

@2: Completely stupid comparison. ME3 MP DLC has been free, and its absolutely awesome they have continued doing this. If they start charging for it, I will be very pissed off.

They will eventually just like they had with their previous games. Just a matter of time.

Oh. Nice! And although I’ll probably be playing Krater by the time they release this it’s good to know that there will be new free cool content waiting for me when I get back. :)

@5 Why are you talking to them? Don’t you realize that they’re just trolling?

Hrmn. Yeah, I’m calling bullshit on this, too.

Firstly: The planet isn’t special at all to aliens, so that would be a ridiculous way to market multiplayer.

Secondly: They’ve never done an ‘all one race’ update, yet. And I can’t imagine them starting now.

Thirdly: They’ve never actually created new maps, it’s just been repurposed versions of maps in-game.

    So, noap. Not buying this.

@3 6 brand new classes all for one race? No, it isn’t going to happen. None of those classes are in the game yet. If they were a list of six races, I wouldn’t have said anything because I guess it could be true, but six no classes? Nope, no bite, not taking the bait.

I still want to see how they’d manage the elcor in multiplayer. After the geth and krogan, that’s the update I’m waiting for. Especially if they add an elcor vanguard.

@8 Not saying you’re wrong, TheWulf, but here is my argument to your points:

    1. Earth is important. Commander Shepard and Admiral Hackett are both forming an army of every species to help save Earth. Earth is the place for the final battle, where I might add, all the species were helping out.

    2. While they haven’t done a “one race” pack yet, they haven’t done an Earth pack. IF this Earth pack is true, then having it all humans would make sense.

    3. Earth was in the game. It can be easily re-purposed if need be, at the same time it wouldn’t be too difficult to make maps for it either.

EDIT: Final point. Saving Earth was the tagline and objective of the game. It would be logical for them to bring that into the multiplayer as well as the singleplayer.
