Imagine merges 360 Magazine into X360

Imagine’s announced its merged 360 Magazine and X360 together under the latter brand. The first issue since the merger will launch on July 11 with Dan Howdle leading the team as editor and Rick Porter as EIC. Both magazines seen recent drops in the last round of ABC results.

    I read these before. Disappointing news, this, because one I remember as pulpy trash, hardly worth the cheap paper it was printed on (let alone the cover price), whilst the other seemed to have much more to say and I bought it alongside my multi-format mag for a number of months, since I appreciated its editorial style, opinion and content. I can’t tell you which publication was which, though. It was only through glancing at the cover that I avoided getting the wrong one! ;p

    360 was the pulpy trash one, which Imagine launched themselves. X360 was the better-selling one which they acquired from Highbury Publishing when that company folded. I’m amazed 360 magazine lasted this long!

    Actually, X360 was for younger gamers, 360 for mature adults. That was the difference.
