Hell is forever in DOOM 3 BFG Edition E3 screens
Some things just never get old, like the minions of hell, which accompany you in your eternal suffering. Happily, you’re also accompanied by weapons. Hello, DOOM 3 BFG.
DOOM 3 BFG Edition hits PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in northern autumn. The HD remaster includes lost content and extras as well as both the original games.

It’s sad that this game is almost 10 years old, but still has better graphics than Dead Space 1 and 2…
Consoles have held us back way too much.

I am quite surprised that it looks so good…

I don’t think this looks better then dead space 1 and 2 at all. The character models translate over well but It’s still obvious this games running off of direct x 9.
Looking forward to getting this though seeing how I bought a classic xbox just to play it and turned around and lent it to a friend *slaps forehead* I’m to nice to my friends.

Yea I think @1 is overreacting a little too much. This does look and sound pretty intriguing though, especially since I’ve never played any of these games. Do you guys think it’s worth picking up? With lost content and extras, plus the first two games, sounds like a party to me

#1 is way overreacting. This looks terrible. Low-poly models, horribly low res textures, even for the time this game doesn’t look that great and the artistic values of Dead Space even just stomp all over Doom 3. I’m not sure what #1 is smoking, but I don’t want any.
Now, for a game that still looks good after a huge period of time? Uru: Ages Beyond Myst. Cyan were really great at art direction, so their stylings have really stood the test of time.
But Doom 3? Nnnnnnot so much. Sorry.
Doom 3 would be helped if it had any artistic values holding it up, but it doesn’t even have that.
Dead Space screenshot, for reference.

Yeah, but after all this years can they make gibs and skeletons from zombies stay and not vanish in an instant? Because that’s the only thing wrong with original game and the only thing no modder could fix short of disabling gibbing, which is horrible.
@1 Nah. I have Doom 3 + RoE on PC and just no. Low quality textures on ultra and low poly models. You wanna see graphical powerhorse? God of War 3.

@3, @4, @5 I knew some of you would start talking about artistry.
Here are screenshots more representative of DS gameplay:

Bad lighting all over the place. At least D3 had some contrast:
