New Super Mario Bros U announced, trailered

Nintendo announced New Super Mario Bros U during its E3 Press Conference. The game can be transferred from the TV to pad, and allows up to four players. It will integrate with MiiVerse as well, allowing users to play as their Mii characters. The game also introduces the new Boost Mode, which can be used to add blocks, to help players avoid enemies, enable Mario to discover secrets or allow multiple players working together to perform a speed run in record time. The E3 video is below as well as an Iwata Asks video on the game.

    No it’s not, but apart from Wii Sports and Wii Fit, I can’t think what new franchises they’ve created this generation. I mean I applaud them championing the entirely new style of gameplay, as they did with Wii and they do now again with Wii U, but they really need to make some new IP, and fast.

    To have no new core IP this generation, and just one the previous generation (Pikmin – though two if you include Luigi’s Mansion), is fucking ridiculous. There’s no way to defend it.

    I assume people’s judgement is clouded by nostalgia. Nintendo are worse than Activision and EA for milking IPs – Mario soccer, kart, tennis, party, olympics, golf.

    Xenoblade chronicles, baiten kaitos, etc, but whatever, i might include last story and pandoras tower, but i got the feeling you will say is not from nintendo, denying the fact they are only found on a nintendo console but whatever, they dont make games the only ones that makes games are sony and microsoft, nintendo should do TV or computer software then.. oh wait…
