God of War: Ascension release date announced
Sony has announced that Kratos’ next PlayStation 3 outing, God of War: Ascension, will officially hit shelves on March 12, 2013, releasing a length stage demo with plenty of action.
It’s Kratos versus the goat men, and the sea monster, and the elephant man, and really anything else that gets in his way, in the new gameplay footage below.

i was sort of disappointed by Ascension, not really disappointed but not really surprised:/
my god the moment I played GOW3, I was mind blown up and down!
Everything felt new and a BIG jump and step up from GOW2.
Ascension is basically GOW3.5:/
i love the additional features like how the camera zooms in nice and close when you climb. Love the animation of climbing.
Like the close up with his Blade magic.
Like how you can use secondary weapon.
But nothing ground breaking or surprising in comparison to GOW3:/
also why is Kratos’s skin whiter? might be dev’s choice.

Oh look, the same game we played five times already, with absolutely no changes or improvements to the skill-less combat.

@3 …so? The core mechanics of the combat are completely indentical. That’s six games now with absolutely no improvement or additional depth. It’s a sequel for sequel’s sake.
@4 Not sure what your point is. The mechanics are switched around and updated constantly in Nintendo’s game.

@3 Thank you. I’m looking forward to the new GoW, mostly the Kraken made it for me.

Not impressed I enjoyed GOW3 but the series ended. Santa Monica needs to look at doing other games because the series has ended not sure why you have to go with a prequel. Will definitely rent this not buying it though. My gameQ is going to be full by this fall and next spring.

Wait…is someone who is constantly on Nintendo’s dick actually going after someone else for putting out the same game five times?!?

guys lets all not forget that GOW 3 E3 showing was very similar to GOW 2. But final product was mindblowing.
so let’s wait for this game’s final product:)

Not interested at all. They should have tried going to different locations, destroying new mythologies. This just looks uninspired. Actually a little bland. I blame the color palette.

Even at this stage it is more epic than anything shown from microsoft and nintendo.
