    So…

The screenshots show that they just went with gritty and epic reality. Because we haven’t had enough of that to be sick of it by now. You know, just once I want to be shown something which is just passionately off the wall, where people have created something that they wanted to make, rather than what they think would sell.

But I guess except for the mainstream oddity, the only place I’m going to get that is Kickstarter, or from small/indie devs. I mean, I just don’t understand what’s up with the mainstreram at the moment.

It isn’t the whole of the gaming industry because that would be ridiculous. It really would. No, it’s just the mainstream in a very focused way. It’s like everything is grimdark, epic reality, gritty, boring, boring, boring of late. Don’t you people get tired of the same things all the time?

Really. Don’t you ever get tired of the same things all the time?

Or do you believe that the same things ALL the time is a good thing?

I mean, more of the same can be taken so fucking far.

Give me a time machine and I seriously would go back and kill the people responsible for grim dark, gritty, and epic reality, because that’s all we have, thus far. Oh, and Tolkien. Him too.

(But only after writing the Hobbit. Because the Hobbit was actually p great, it’s just the Lord of the Rings in particular that’s just completely and utterly shit. And it’s a fantasy phenotype that I wish people would stop following.)
