Rumor – Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation outed ahead of E3

Saturday, 2nd June 2012 19:20 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

A NeoGAF user has posted details from the issue of Game Informer which has a preview of the Vita title Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation.

Here’s what was pulled:

  • It’s out same day as AC3 (October 30)
  • Location is New Orleans
  • Female assassin named Aveline of mixed heritage
  • Looks like same time period as AC3
  • Ubisoft Sofia is developing
  • Takes place between 1765-1780 in the period between the end of the French and Indian war
  • One of the bullet points is that it’s “true AC gameplay”
  • Will not connect to Desmond
  • Will have “multiplayer specifically tailored to the Vita experience”
  • “The game has been released as a propaganda tool by Abstergo, who want players to experience a gray area of the Assassin/Templar conflict as an assassin rather than a Templar”
  • Aveline’s mentor is an escaped slave named Agate, leader of the assassins in New Orleans
  • Wildlife like alligators “wait on the banks of the swamp or hide beneath murky waters”
  • Liberation will also take players “across the Gulf into Mexico”

The game was listed by retailer Zavvi earlier this week, and until Ubisoft or Game Informer confirms the details, just take this information for what it is – Ubisoft’s E3 press conference takes place on Monday so the wait won’t be long.

Aaaaan there goes another Sony surprise. Of course it was rumored that Vita is gonna get its own AC3 but such a full leak (Story, female character and more details) ahead of conference is just sad.

What is it with Sony and revealing or leaking every single surprise before E3 Conference?

You missed the sticking out tongue face of jokingness.

    @3
Does it really matter? When you pick the game up in a years time, will you hold it in your hand and think back to the great joy you had when you learned about it from the conference… Or will you just play it? I really dont get why people are so hung up on the idea that stuff HAS to be announced in the conferences going as far as to evade news sites because they dont want to see “spoilers”.
Seriously people, are you going to enjoy GTAV any less because Rockstar just announced it one day without any fanfare? Would you enjoy the game more if they only announced it next week during E3?

It’s not about the game. The way it is announced has nothing to do with the actual game. I’m talking about Sony press conference. Every year it gets more and more boring. The surprises should be there to help the conference, instead of being points where people say “Oh, I knew about it before the conference”. This takes out all the fun and surprise out of E3 and what used to be fun press conferences.

Seeing as the story in AC revolves alot around mystery, they could really utilize the vita’s double touch screen and camera!

I just hope that it will be not at the same level of the PSP game quality.

I remember that AC game on the PSP and it was a great piece of shit tech demo version.
Glad to see NEW Game for the Vita from big third party publishers. Sony should step up.

I think I now have officially enough reasons to get a Vita. Best Start saving.

This while Ubisoft says its impossible for a female lead in AC-3.
Not that I am complaining , I just want a great game and storyline. A choice of genders would be nice (although probably just wishful thinking on my behalf).
