@3 maybe he was at one point, but his output has been pretty insubstantial in recent times.

Let’s be honest, the Acid, Portable Ops, and MGS PW titles were mostly awful. It took Platinum to salvage anything decent from Rising, and these HD remakes are no substitute for a real new KP release. What on earth has his team been doing since MGS4?

@3 You do realize he’s only the producer of these games?

This is the whole reason his name gets attached to these projects, because of people who will hang on his every word and treat him like some sort of genius, even when he has next to no involvement with the games in question.

I seriously hope he isn’t God either. The guy can’t even follow the most basic rules of storytelling.

@4 Putting all the cutscenes together for Metal Gear Solid 5. Probably.

“even when he has next to no involvement with the games in question.”

DO you have proof of this? Producers get involved with their projects all the time especially since they are the ones that say yes or no to content if it improves the game or profitability. Then there is of course producers like Jerry Bruckheimer who just stamps his name on everything and its absolute crap like Prince of Persia.

@6 Do you have proof that he *was*?

He didn’t develop the story, the characters or the gameplay. Giving him the credit for all the work on ZoE is a disservice to the actual people who did do it.

He might have overseen things, but that’s not the same thing is being the director, in what I personally consider to be an incredibly average series of video games anyway. The series lacks any of his requisite charm.

Producer is always the face of the company while he may not have any job with the creative aspect. He does have control over how it fits together btw he was a designer for the game so yes he does deserve credit for it.

@8 Sure, why give Yuji Shinkawa Any credit for his mech designs, Or Shuya Murata, the *writer and director*, any credit, when you can just heap all the praise on Kojima, even though he was not the *creator* of said vision.

Did I say all the credit for it? He deserves as much credit as the rest of the team down to the grunts. But since he is the face of the series(producer). He does get credit for it because no one is gonna bother looking at the credits to see who did what individually.
