EA confirms Criterion-made NFS: Most Wanted for E3

EA’s officially confirmed the existence of Need for Speed: Most Wanted as part of the publisher’s E3 line-up announcement

No more details are given on it besides a first look at the racer at the publisher’s E3 press conference on Monday. As expected, Hot Pursuit developer Criterion Games is handling development.

The official Need for Speed Facebook page has posted the first screen here.

Dead Space 3 is also mentioned in the release. Again, no more details on that until the press conference on Monday.

EA’s promised to show “titles not yet announced” at the presser, including one unannounced Facebook title.

The press conference happens from 9pm BST (1pm PST/4pm EST/10pm CET) on Monday. You can watch it here.

Rest of the line-up is below.

  • Battlefield 3: Close Quarters and Battlefield 3: Armored Kill
  • Crysis 3
  • FIFA 13
  • Madden NFL 13
  • Medal of Honor: Warfighter
  • NBA Live 13

@1 There’s no more details on it. It’s a fleeting mention at the top of the press release that it’s a first look at the game. It’s actually not listed in the actual line-up.

The official NFS FB page has just posted the first screen of it. I’ll get it up in a second.

EDIT: I just seen what you and Sam meant. I’ve fixed it.

E3 hasn’t even started yet and we’ve already had loads of ‘pre-E3 game announcements’. Hopefully Sony and Microsoft have some surprises which they haven’t yet revealed, otherwise this is going to be a standard affair E3.

Can’t they just make another burnout game? Paradise was much better then all the need for speeds put together… Apart from the showtime thing, bring back crash mode and you’ve got a sale e.a.

Excellent. With awesome titles like NFS HP, Burnout can rest in piece like the shitty series it is.

@12 Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is an absolutely stellar game, by a company that truly knows its art, but its still a pity to see the Burnout franchise being sidelined.

Tbh, I would rather them sideline Burnout for a bit. Bring it back in a few years. Keeps it fresh. Imo, too many games have turned into yearly or near yearly releases. Nice to have them spaced out a bit.

It’s just kind of stupid to call it Need for Speed Most Wanted though, why not Most Wanted 2? It’s like all these games like SSX, Medal of Honor, Tomb Raider. We’ve already had those names, what is it with that?
