THQ: Metro: Last Light Wii U "not in development"

THQ has said the Wii U version of Metro: Last Light isn't currently in development for the system, adding it's "correct" to assume it's no longer confirmed for the system.

The shooter was shown as part of a showreel showcasing Wii U's third-party line-up at E3 last year alongside THQ stablemate Darksiders II. While that is still on track, the future isn't as clear for Last Light on Nintendo's next-gen system.

"Not at the moment, it's not in development," global brand manager Mark Madsen told Digital Spy.

"If it does happen, it won't sim-ship with the other SKUs, but if the opportunity arises we'll take a look at it."

That aside, Madsen didn't think showing the shooter as part of the presser was a mistake.

"No I don't think it was a bit too early [to show the game at E3]. As we got along in the development process, we just really wanted to focus on what we knew, focus on PS3, 360 and PC.

"The verdict is out on what we can do to maximise the code for the Wii U, and we'll see [what happens]."
