Soul Sacrifice fronts some seriously gory spells

Remember all those screens showing people on fire and vomiting organs and stuff? We finally know what that was all about: kicking arse, Soul Sacrifice style.

Siliconera translated the details of several of the spells shown in the screenshots, which we've dropped in a gallery below.

One called Excalibur was shown early in the Vita RPG's reveal, and allows players to vomit up their spine and other useful internal devices to fashion a sword. Unsurprisingly, it kills your character.

Salamander is a litle les hardcore; it wreathes your body in deadly flames which both protect and damage. It also leaves you horrifically wounded from your multiple critical burns, but there you go.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the stuff that doesn't require you to damage yourself. Some spells let you sacrifice rocks for stone armour, or summon golems by sacrificing lava.

Soul Sacrifice is the latest effort from Keiji Inafune and hits Japan during northern winter.
