Video Games Live to air on Sky Arts tonight

A recorded version of the Video Games Live concert series is to air tonight on Sky Arts and its HD equivalent in the UK tonight.

The show will air tonight on Sky Arts and Sky Arts HD at 9pm.

The concert series is intended to be a celebration of the music of video games, featuring soundtracks from titles including Zelda, God of War, Sonic, Warcraft, Castlevania, Civilization and of course Mario all played by a full orchestra. It's the brainchild of Tommy Tallarico, known for the soundtrack to Earthworm Jim and Advent Rising and Jack Wall, known for his work on Mass Effect 1 & 2 and the Myst series.

The recorded version to be shown live tonight is played by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra to an audience at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans.

The last time the series played live in the UK was in 2009.
