Kojima offers glimpse at new Zone of the Enders project

Hideo Kojima and his studio Kojima Productions have revealed a first glimpse at a new Zone of the Enders project via some artwork at an event in Japan.

Kojima revealed a single piece of artwork from what they’re calling the “Enders Project” – and nothing else. The photo made its way online via a Twitter user who was in the audience.

The thing is, it can be nothing special in the End. Last year Kojima was working on the “Snatcher project” and in the end it was a CD Drama that was never released outside of Japan.

Seriously? Really? Story is pure fun. Even the first one had a short but decent story and both are really enjoyable games full classic crazy Japanese moments. Also, 2nd Runner was a super stunning game for its time.

@15 The first one felt like the devs ran out of time and crammed in an ending just to get the game out the door. It was over almost as soon as it began.

“Funny, crazy, Japanese moments” is what I would translate into “The same tired, overused anime tropes being rehashed in a video game shell.” The gameplay wasn’t even that deep. Armoured Core did and does everything it did better.

Armoured Core is nothing like ZoE.

The nearest thing to ZoE is Omega Boost. The second game improved on the first in everyway. I can understand not enjoying the first but the second game is a fantastic example of high speed, high melodrama space mechs.

Thing if you can see the anime tropes chances are you can see the tropes in fucking everything. You can’t single out one genre as being negative while allowing other culprits to pass. Like every RPG ever made.

Did you hear that Master Chief is fighting AN ANCIENT EVIL in Halo 4?

That you can’t see how seriously this shite takes itself in comparison to ‘Master Chief’ (perhaps you know something I don’t though, because i have no idea what the new one is about) is even more worrying than how you can’t recognize Armored Core similarities.

Dynasty Warriors are insulting, Oblivion is generic because it’s just there to take you through the game.. Metal Gear Solid is appalling, Counter Strike isn’t, see.. I thought it was obv for anyone over the age of 20.

@17 Well, there’s nothing more boring than a completely cliched JRPG either. Which is why my favorites are the ones that either deconstructs those cliches and adds depth to the concepts, or avoids most of them altogether. A perfect example of this would be Tales of Vesperia.

Never said the problem was with the genre. I like anime. I said the problem was with it being an uninspired entry into the genre.

The reason Evangeliom was so awesome was because it took these otherwise cliched stereotypes and eventually said “Look, yes, this kid *is* a fucking loser!”, instead of expecting you to feel sorry for him.

Not sure what the point of mentioning Halo was. It’s probably the most uninspired franchise in gaming.
