GDC Europe 2012 adds Dead Island session

Dead Island publisher Deep Silver is just one of a small number of newly-announced presenters for GDC Europe 2012.

Deep Silver project manager Vivien Dollinger will give a presentation in the Production track called "Dead Island: How To Create A Mega Seller On A Moderate Budget." The talk is expected to include unreleased user and market data related to the 2011 horror. Dollinger will touch on Metacritic and how small budget games can beat the odds.

Also in Production, Player Research founder Graham McAllister will give a talk called "Implementing an in-house playtesting process" about how testing can be vital to the design process.

In the Business, Marketing & Management stream, Justin Beck, formerly of Parallel Kingdom developer PerBlue, will talk about "Bootstrapping 101: How College Kids Built a Thriving Game Company in Under Three Years." The popular speaker will discuss why the developer turned down funding and managed to keep paying its dues.

GDC Europe 2012 runs August 13-15 alongside gamescom in Cologne.
