"The aim is to include as many PC features," as possible in Minecraft 360, says 4J

While 4J's first Minecraft update for Xbox 360 will contain pistons and other tweaks, there won't be any large additions added to the game until update 1.8.2.

Speaking with OXM, Paddy Burns said version 1.7.3, which is still undated, will be easy to implement into the console version. It's the "Adventure update", which will pose a challenge to the developer, due to its sheer size.

"We're implementing the features from the beta 1.7.3 version at the moment, and it's nowhere near as tricky as the 1.8.2 changes will be," he said. "There are no big architecture changes with the move to 1.7.3, so it's been quite straightforward. The move to 1.8.2 is much more challenging.

"This is going to be the most difficult update due to the sheer amount of changes, and also the underlying architecture changes that come with it."

The 1.8 update adds Creative Mode which comes with "invulnerability, infinite blocks and the power of flight," according to the article, as well as other mechanics for Survival Mode such as a stamina gauge and the Endermen.

Other things are being added as well, and the Minecraft Wiki can fill you in on the rest.

Burns said 4J is working closely with Mojang in order to bring as many features from the PC version over to the console as possible.
