The Aldmeri Dominion faction are all about conquest in The Elder Scrolls Online

Thursday, 17th May 2012 20:39 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Game Informer has posted details on the Aldmeri Dominion, one of three factions in The Elder Scrolls Online.

According to the feature, the Aldmeri Dominion want to rule the world, thus they are concerned with conquest more than anything else.

If you head on through the link, there’s also information on three of Tamriel regions and the race which dominates each: Valenwood which is home to the Bosmer, the Summerset Isles where the magical Altmer reside, and Elsweyr which is where the Khajiit roam.

The Daggerfall Covenant faction was profiled earlier this week.

The Elder Scrolls Online is expected to launch in 2013.

I feel sorry for the khajiit, they constantly get swept up in elven shenanigans. And thanks to poor writers, they never do anything about it. I mean, it’s already documented that the khajiit are absolutely amazing guerilla fighters, and as such they should be using that to stand against the Dominion.

To be honest though, thanks to amazingly slipshod writing, the lore of Elder Scrolls has been going rapidly downhill since Oblivion, Skyrim sent it into freefall, and this seems like the last nail in the coffin.

Nice knowing you, Tamriel. I’ll remember you at your best (Morrowind).

You must be the only person I have seen who doesn’t like Elder Scrolls the way they currently are :L Oblivion and Skyrim got really well received. Also, I think the Lore is fine, I like the idea of Khajiit and Argonians being repressed etc etc etc… I think it is good in the RPG genre to have such differences.

@2 The Elder Scrolls has a really strong lore (nowhere was this more apparent than in Daggerfall and Morrowind) and whilst I still enjoy the franchise, a lot of the lore’s really unique elements seem to have gotten swept up and blown away amongst all the generic fantasy tropes they seem to be wanting to cater to in the recent titles.
