Starting today, Xbox Live Gold members who are also Time Warner Cable and Bright House customers will be able to access HBO GO through the console. Those in the US can now watch the entire HBO catalogue of live and on demand original content from newer shows such as Game of Thrones to old favorites like The Sopranos. You can even use Kinect to control it. Get more through the Major.

So, you have to have time warner cable. Have to subscribe to HBO. Have to have a Gold membership of course. And then you can watch HBO?

I mean, can’t you just watch HBO already? I mean if you already have Cable and HBO. So whats the big deal about watching it on your xbox? Oh, forgot, you can use Kinect with it…lol, right.

    Maybe I am missing something?

But it sounds like the ESPN U kind of crap. I can get ESPN U on cable. And if I go through the hassle of contacting MS and/or espn and/or timewarner, I could watch ESPN U on my xbox. I say and/or because the irony is that I have timewarner, have espn(U) on cable, have a gold sub yet can’t get the service to authtencate my credentails. So it won’t work on xbox. No worries, i can watch it on TV.

So just like HBO go, what is the point?

I guess so you can just go directly to it without switching a button your remote. Lazy damn people. :D
