I think that’s a good thing. First, a young teenager is a character that’s rarely seen in this medium so it’ll be interesting to see how the developers deal with it. Plus, you may think I’m being pessimistic but I feared the “post-apo” + “18-20yo” cocktail would give some useless sex (or worse, rape) crap. Now there’s just no way they’ll play on that.

Good call about sex thing but regarding the “rape” matter, I think it would have been a really dark and evocative part of game if presented with care. Remember that many of the best post-apo books and films have such themes.
Many devs may use it for shock value but I have faith in ND and specially Amy Hening. A talented lady like that would be the perfect person to tackle such an issue in a video game. So far, LA Noire is the only big budget game to have that and they handled it decently if not perfectly.

Not to rain on your parade but Amy Hennig is not the writer of the Last of Us. She is still in charge of Uncharted while Last of Us is headed by a completely different team with a completely different Creative Director.

@5 Yes, you’re right, rape is a “common” (and interesting) theme in post-apo. But it’s a really delicate subject so I’m not sure you can treat it in an action game like this, even though I wouldn’t mind them trying (I’m just scared it would be poorly handled and the game would suffer from it).
