Rovio announces first post-Angry Birds game: Amazing Alex

Amazing Alex will be the first post-Angry Birds-based game from Rovio, company CEO Mikael Hed told Finnish TV station Yle this morning.

Amazing Alex will be based off the Casey's Contraptions IP, according to Hed. Rovio announced yesterday it had acquired the rights to the IP from Snappy Touch and Mystery Coconut.

The new game, which'll release in two months time, will have an educational side to it, featuring a young boy called Alex who loves to build.

Hed said on Yle the company was aiming to keep the same quality it became known for with Angry Birds.

"The quality pressure is high. We want to maintain the high standard Angry Birds fans have come to enjoy."
