Firefly Studios has announced Stronghold 3: Gold Edition will be released on May 25 for PC and Mac. The release comes with the new Blackstaff single-player campaign and all 12 historical sieges, previously only available through special editions of the game as well as the three core campaigns, four multiplayer modes including the new Coronation mode, and a free-build sandbox mode. Those who already own Stronghold 3 or purchase it before May 25 will have their copy automatically upgraded to the Gold Edition through Steam. Those who purchase the standard edition after this date will have the option to purchase the Blackstaff Campaign as downloadable content. Shots of the new campaign are posted below.

Have the problems been fixed though? That’s what I’m interested in knowing.

The game looked great, but I ended up not purchasing it on release because of overwhelming complaints about it being unfinished, buggy, poorly balanced, etc.

I guess what i’m asking is: will this be a “we fucked up on the initial release, and in light of all the feedback, here’s an amended Gold edition with additional content” or a “the game was a complete disaster, and rather than try and address the core problems, we’re going to try and milk whatever we can out of it with this Gold edition that has equally flawed and broken game modes”
