Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance teaser gets political

Another teaser site has opened for Platinum Games’ take on the Metal Gear universe, hinting that the action-oriented title isn’t afraid to dive into the convoluted narratives the franchise is known for.

Konami’s latest marketing effort for Metal Gear Rising: Revenegeance is called War On Our Shores.

The video is described as “a leaked audio recording of Colorado Senator Stephen Armstrong’s conversation, with one of his speech writers” which “reveals the horrific truth about what the Senator’s true plans are for America”.

The fandom has declared Armstrong’s plans hauntingly similar to those of Solidus Snake in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is expected to release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at the end of the year. Check out the trailer below.

Thanks, Gamefront.

Yeah, this is tying in with Solidus somehow. My interest has all of a sudden shot up.

Wow, this made any previous MGS titles look subtle. Don’t know what to think about it yet, i mean they specifically mention the Tea Party and all that.

The voiceacting is pretty bad though, as is the writing.

I don’t think i’d say this kind of information on the phone. But most of what he says is right, you don’t seem to filter information any more, all you need is spinning.
