Harmonix: Rock Band: Led Zeppelin not in the works

Tuesday, 8th May 2012 08:46 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Despite appearing on a recent CV, Rock Band: Led Zeppelin isn’t a game currently in the works, Harmonix has told VG247.

A CV belonging to one Fiona DeSouza has mentioned something called “ROCKBAND: LED ZEPPELIN,” found by Superannuation.

Nothing else is said on the profile besides a fleeting mention of the name.

Harmonix has told VG247 this afternoon that a Zep-based Rock Band title isn’t in the works.

“As we’ve noted before, we’re constantly in talks with all major artists and labels,” it said in a statement.

“That said, Harmonix has never been in development on a Led Zeppelin game, though we’d obviously be thrilled to have them in Rock Band.”

Harmonix has already released two band-flavoured Rock Band titles: Green Day and The Beatles, the latter the more significant of the two due to its importance. A Led Zeppelin game has been high on most-wanted lists from Rock Band fans.

No, they should stop with all band related releases and just do it as DLC. Green day was good enough to let us export.

Beatles however was fun to play but no export feature means it never gets played, even if they made an export feature for it now, it would sell more.
When your having party and playing these games, you prefer to stick to RB3, rather than changing discs, getting everyone signed in again and then only to have Beatles songs. People like to mix it up, couple a beatles, then some other bands, then maybe go back to a beatles.

I’m sure Led Z will be exportable but just release as full albums, no need for a game.

Didn’t think this was possible. Page has been adamant about his dislike of these games, yet has no problem with Cadillac using the tunes to hawk cars.

@5 It’s nice to know I’m not the only who’s sad that this isn’t real. A boy can dream I guess.

So then how to explain the appearance of the title on the CV?

And I would really want this too, but I don’t expect it will ever happen. A bit disappointing to come here and see a story with this game name in the title, only for it to say “THIS ISN’T HAPPENING.”

Just because some doofus wants to pad his resume with a game that never got past pre-production, game journos want to jump on it like there’s been a major revelation… Anyone familiar with Harmonix or Rock Band knows Led Zeppelin is one of those stuck-up bands that has repeatedly refused to license anything for a music game, let alone headline their own title.
