THQ won’t have a booth at E3 2012
Although the publisher is bringing its games to the show, THQ won’t be fronting an E3 2012 booth.

Speaking to GamesIndustry, a THQ representative confirmed the publisher will attend the show despite not forking out for a booth.
“We’re not producing a booth, but we will be participating in E3. We will be showing games to the E3 judges at their event coming up, and we’ll be hosting a press and business center at the show for meetings (as well as participating with first party activities),” the spokesperson said.
“When we needed to make the decision on the booth (many months ago) we were in a MUCH different place than today. But, we will be there to support our portfolio and the show itself.”
E3 booths are tremendously expensive affairs, and THQ is going through a rough patch financially; the publisher lost a bundle on uDraw last year, resulting in job cuts, executive shuffles, the scaling back of Dark Millenium Online and even the selling off of an entire label.
THQ’s expected E3 line up includes the recently-delayed Darksiders II and possibly Company of Heroes 2. E3 2012 runs June 5 through 7.

Fucking hell!?
They have Company of Heroes 2 (Revealed via PC Gamer), South Park RPG, DarkSiders 2, InSane, Devil’s Third, InSane and Warhammer Dark Millennium and yet not booth? Only a small showing for E3 judges? Seriously Lame.

@1 – Company of Heroes 2 has been rumoured.
@3 – Its not cheap to attend these shows and really, its only a trade show and I would rather them save the cash for public outtings then licking the arses of other publishers butts.

I know it’s not cheap but these are the first exterior signs of a publisher’s demise and that saddens me.
South Park RPG is my most anticipated game of 2012. DarkSiders 2 and Metro Last Light are sequels to some really interesting games and Company of Heroes 2 is…. well, COH2! From Relic! Then there’s Del Toro’s InSane.
I just don’t want to see this publisher go down and yet, this news only makes it look more inevitable.
