MechWarrior Online introduces the Catapult
Piranha Games’ upcoming MechWarrior Online is looking pretty fancy in these new screens, which show off the Catapult mech.
The free-to-play MMO has quite a few interesting aspects, not least of which is its stated intention to explore a huge swathe of the MechWarrior canon in real time. Sign on at the beginning of a thirty year war and you are in it for the duration.
You’ll also be able to tinker wildly with your mech, but the standard options are pretty good. The Catapult here is something of a tactical model in that it can fire on enemies without having to be in visual range; also, it jumps, which is obviously awesome.
MechWarrior Online is due some time this year, exclusively for PC.
Thanks, GameInformer.

I’d love a Mechwarrior reboot in the same style as the ones for Xbox one. this is is going to be one of those slow ploding tactical ones that takes itself way too serioursly and is just boring to play.
Going to give it a try when it comes out, but the day and age for a game style like this, I feel, is over. PC gaming is way more main stream now then it used to be. And a MMO needs to appeal to the masses to keep afloat.
I think this game is going to be off putting.
