London Games Festival returns for September 2012

UKIE's announced the return of the London Games Festival, with the month-long event to begin in September.

The last LGF was held back in 2010, but took a year off in 2011.

The 2012 event starts on September 27 - the day Eurogamer Expo kicks off at Earls Court - and ends on October 28.

This year's festival will have "massive consumer exhibitions, game launches, parties, careers’ fairs and educational summits, through to fringe events like video game pub quizzes and karaoke" that celebrate games, according to the press release.

UKIE's Kirsty Payne is curator once again.

"London Games Festival is a real focus for UKIE this year," said Payne. "We’re looking to unite the whole industry in a month-long celebration of games and gaming culture, and expect this to be the biggest LGF to date.”

UKIE CEO Jo Twist added: "UKIE is delighted to be spearheading the London Games Festival and it’s the perfect opportunity to bring together and showcase all elements of the interactive entertainment industry including, education and skills, accessibility, government, talent, innovation and above all, fun events for anyone who likes to play games.”
