Datura dev shows off PlayStation-powered VR set up

Plastic, the developer behind upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive Datura, was asked by Sony to make an immersive VR environment out of consumer electronics. Gaze upon it in wonder through the break.

The key to the system is Sony's HMZ-T1 personal projector, and a second PlayStation Move controller attached to the user's head, which allows the PlayStation Eye camera to track its movement.

It's hard to see just how awesome the results are from the outside, so Plastic built an elaborate theatre in order to give bystanders a glimpse at what was going on.

So holodecks next, yes? Datura comes out in next week's PlayStation Network update, and can be played with a standard SixAxis or DualShock.

Thanks, CVG.
