Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown heading to EVO 2012

Although it'll be too new to be part of official proceedings, the latest Virtua Fighter 5 revision is headed to EVO 2012 with plenty of cash prizes on the line.

Because a game must be available for at least six months to be eligible for the main competition, the Virua Fighter 5: Final Showdown tournament will be a side event.

As such, Sega will handle all registration and administration, with details still to be confirmed, and is fronting $15,000 total in prizes to be spread across the top 16 players.

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown is expected on consoles in northern summer, but you can always fire up the 2007 original to get some practice in; the PlayStation 3 version of Final Showdown will be used in Sega's tournament.
