Infamous PS3 hacker George “Geohot” Hotz met with Sony engineers to discuss his “methodology” in hacking, its been revealed in a New Yorker profile on the hacker.

Last May, company engineers set up the meeting with Hotz to talk about how he had managed to hack a PlayStation 3.

The meeting came months after the two settled out of court following a lawsuit from Sony against the hacker, who had published a guide on how to hack a PS3.

Hotz said in the New Yorker piece the Sony engineers in the meeting were “respectful,” adding that “if there were going to be lawyers there, I was going to be the biggest asshole ever.”

“We are always interested in exploring all avenues to better safeguard our systems and protect consumers,” Sony corporate strategic communications SVP Jim Kennedy added on why the meeting was set up.

After the lawsuit ended, Hotz went off to work at Facebook, but quit after eight months. No reason was given for why he quit, but said: “Facebook is a fun place to work, but I wonder how people stay employed for so long.”
