UK charts: Prototype 2 reaches top of the summit

Prototype 2 has become the new UK number one, taking over from the 360 edition of The Witcher II.

The Radical sequel, despite launching on a Tuesday, didn’t meet first-week sales of its predecessor, however. Sales were split in 63% to 37% on Xbox 360.

Prototype 2′s week one sales are better Kinect Star Wars and The Witcher II: Enhanced Edition for Xbox 360, but not as much for FIFA Street.

FIFA Street, FIFA 12, Mass Effect 3 and Kinect Star Wars round off a top five in a chart this week that has seen no other entries besides P2

Get the top ten for the week ending April 28 below. Last week’s data is here.

  • 1 – Prototype 2
  • 2 – FIFA Street
  • 3 – FIFA 12
  • 4 – Mass Effect 3
  • 5 – Kinect Star Wars
  • 6 – The Witcher II: Enhanced Edition
  • 7 – Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13
  • 8 – Battlefield 3
  • 9 – Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics
  • 10 – Saints Row: The Third

That’s actually surprising to me but well done all the same. I’d quit like them to do another Hulk game. :)

@2 – this proves the imbeciles of the world still significantly outnumber us.

Hardly the most depressing Top 10 aside from that.

It’s a rather sad game. So many possibilities… all wasted because of the chaotic open-world design. Now don’t get me wrong, sometimes that chaos feels fun but overall the combat system and many other mechanisms would have been much more enjoyable if used in a more controller situation. The radnet exclusive challenge missions show that but the very fact that they’re random challenges makes them kinda pointless.
