PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale announcement at hand

Tuesday, 24th April 2012 17:42 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

GTTV has released a promo for its Thursday episode, which will presumably unveil Sony’s much rumored PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale from Superbot. The promo notes it’s a PS3-exclusive from a new developer, something host Geoff Keighley teased on Twitter over the weekend.

A domain registration dug up by PlayStation Lifestyle for the title popped up over the weekend along with the Keighley tweet, each adding more fuel to the rumored title which first surfaced last year after an image of Sweet Tooth’s depiction in the game was leaked.

Earlier this month, PlayStation Lifestyle was handed a survey circulated by Sony regarding the title PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which according to everything that’s known at the moment – which is scarce – is codenamed “Title Fight”.

Expect more on Thursday evening, then.

Thanks, TheDutchSlayer.

Can already imagine the number of matchups that could take place within this game, and now I’m psyched for this thursday’s GameTrailers TV. (though wouldn’t friday morning be more accurate, seeing as how their show comes on at 1 A.M. friday morning?)

I wish they would have saved this for E3. This is just the type of thing to announce there. And with such bit ofinfo flying out early, it is one reason why E3s of late have been less then steller. Everyone knows what to expect already.

#2: Of course they know that. But at E3 everyone will be fighting for the attention, so they have reasons to announce stuff before E3 starts. PSASBR (just rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?) could’ve been very easily forgotten at E3, so it makes sense to announce it now instead.

However, if they can afford announcing both God of War 4 and PSALBR just 1 month before their E3 keynote, perhaps they feel confident about what they have already? It makes pre-E3 hype.

Does it really matter if they announce the games at E3? The important thing is that new games are coming, announced at E3 or a month or two before. Sony have never stuck to E3 for announcements anyway, they show off the games there but they seem perfectly happy with revealing stuff randomly throughout the year.

@3, they announced everything except for Twisted Metal in 2010 and their E3 was pretty crappy.

Last year was also not the best to be honest. We knew about all games on the PS3 except for DUST 514 and stupid Move game.

If it is as good as smash i will get it, but i think they need to go the route of smash, crazy fun stuff mixed with some sony touch, but then i look at modnation racers, though, therefore i dont know, i will wait for the reviews and the hands down information about this tittle in order to decide my purchase.
p.s dont get me wrong i did like modnations, and when they did anounce it i think to myself that they can compete with mario kart, but in my eyes mario kart is better having playing both, except the lack of creations tools of course, therefore i think i will wait with this one.

I have a really strange feeling about this. On one hand, this could be a decent and fun party game like SSB. On the other hand, presence of characters like Kratos or Killzone guys in a non-M rated game will feel as weird and out of place as Snake in SSBB.
