Activision trademarks, nabs domain for The Blast Furnace

What is The Blast Furnace? No idea, but Activision seems quite keen on it.

Acitvision has filed a trademark application as recently as April 18 for something called "The Blast Furnace" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The filing's goods and services section covers “computer game software” and “Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game”.

That's not all, Activision seems to have also acquired a domain name going by the same name, theblastfurnace.com. Whois records for the domain show that it's been acquired through the internet brand protection company MarkMonitor. Activision is a long-time client of the firm.

This strongly points towards the domain being registered as a name for an upcoming video game by Activision.

Activision is all set to announce the next Call of Duty game on May 1.

Thanks, Fusible.
