May 1 Call of Duty premiere points to Black Ops 2
Activision has launched a countdown to the global reveal of the next Call of Duty – which rumours have pegged as Black Ops 2.

CallofDuty.com promises the new game will be shown off during the May 1 basketball playoffs on US cable channel TNT.
The teaser site is dotted with “classified” logos, most of which are scheduled to unlock over the next few days. One yielded an image, which is below.
The image in the background of the site, also viewable below, shows a fizzy silhouette in a similar pose to that used to promote 2010′s Call of Duty: Black Ops, which fits nicely with predictions that Treyarch’s effort will be the new series complementing annual Modern Warfare releases.
The website’s source code also makes reference of “Black Ops,” as spotted by GAF.
“”
Most tellingly, the timing of the reveal ties in almost perfectly with a promotional image spotted last week, promising a “return” and supposed promotional items to set on store shelves are even pegging it as Black Ops II for a release on November 13. There’s also some mention of an eclipse.
Call of Duty: Black Ops outsold 2009′s Modern Warfare 2, and analysts believe it has out-performed Modern Warfare 3 so far.

Ideally, your character will go back to being a mute cipher, with Sam Worthington’s character being a support role who gets killed half-way through to make the game edgy/immensely satisfying.

How disgustung!
A European site using a horrible American date format…
And I’m sure that must be some sort of trademark Solid Snake pose in the second picture.

Is anyone excited about a CoD game reveal anymore? It must be akin to getting the horn while waiting for a bus.

I kinda am. Not for CoD part though. I’m excited because it’s a new Black Ops game and the previous BO had a really fun singleplayer campaign. It was like an 80s uber violent action flick. It had great and selective soundtrack and many crazy ideas. Also the plot was sublime B-Movie madness.

Here’s the deal, Treyarch. While Black Ops was the shizz, I still need one more good game out of you to convince that you are a capable CoD dev. Do that with BO2 and we straight homies. CoD3/World at War = forgiven and forgotten.

Will this be the CoD game that the Acti hinted at for the Vita as coming this Autumn? (http://www.vg247.com/2012/02/18/report-call-of-duty-coming-to-vita-in-autumn/) or are we getting a dodgy spin off?

The only CoD i want is for the Playstation Vita.
The best CoD in this generation was CoD 4 and even then it was a game for one night with few multiplayer matches.
Black Ops from all CoD’s had interesting interactive stuff in their maps, but game was just mediocre with stupid singleplayer campaign.
Also, i’m hearing that a lot of Treyarch staff is going to EA to work at Medal Of Honor.
Anyway, both games shit.

@Hun Not in my eyes, it wasn’t. Not even Jack Bauer could convince me it was amazing. Was really unimpressed with it. In fact, I was unimpressed with Treyarch’s CoD efforts that I had played until Black Ops. I enjoyed it a hella lot more than MW2. And in hindsight, probably more than MW3.

Just love the way people waste their money every year on these games.
You then get map packs as soon as they come out and as soon as the next call of duty is out, i dont know anyone who goes back to play the previous ones.
So with the game on day one, and map packs, costs you quite a bit.
Two things need changing on blackops 2. Infinite respawn as theyve had in all their games. Hate it, no skill in the game when they do that, most of the time u can just leg it to check points. If you actually spend the time dodging bullets and manage to clear an area and have barely lil ammo, bam the areas respawned again, all that hard work for nothing, completely boring.
I loved combat training cuz it felt like i was playing my m8s rather than complete strangers, kids screaming down the mic. What i hated, is they claimed it was to get the people who dont do MP to gain some experience and get them into MP. Big fail there as you needed to be online and have a gold to use it. If your already paying for those things, think most ppl would already be in MP. If they had made it offline, all those who dont have gold, internet, might suddenly want it.
Also put your map packs on sale, dont think anyone will want them now though with mw3 been out for ages now and next COD game details coming. The last few years, map pack sale was always the week before the new game.

I also liked W@W more than Black Ops, but Blops definitely had the most ambitious story of any CoD game so far. It all descended into a funny B-movie narrative quite fast, but just like actual B-movies I can enjoy one every now and then. It was so bad it was good, even if you had to see the twist coming as early as the Vietnam tunnels.
The multiplayer was just all over the place. I agree that it’s probably still better than MW3, but that’s largely down to the maps. They didn’t do a very good job on the weapons, which is odd, because the weapons in W@W were quite fun.
In many ways W@W was the opposite. Boring campaign, great multiplayer.
