Prototype 2 to launch in the UK with "world's first over-18 live advert"

Activision has announced it will launch the "first ever over-18 live outdoor advertisement" for Prototype 2 in London at 9.00pm April 22.

The live ad will feature actors playing the parts of Sgt. James Heller and his nemesis Alex Mercer, as well as Blackwatch military and the Infected in scenes from the title.

"Due to the nature of Prototype 2’s content, the game has been rated by the BBFC and PEGI as certificate 18," said Activision's David Tyler.

"This live action advertisement reflects the game in its hard-hitting, fantasy nature and whilst we’re excited to bring this new game to our legions of fans, it would be inappropriate for under 18s to view it."

The five minute long act will be streamed live on Prototype 2’s official Facebook page. If you head over there now, you can also vote for one of two endings, and the one with the most votes will become part of the grand finale of the advertisement.

Prototype 2 is out next week on PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version releases in July.
