Darksiders II delayed from June to August – details

THQ's announced Darksiders II will now release in August, delaying it from its previous June slot.

THQ's confirmed a delay for Darksiders II this afternoon, pushing the Vigil action title into August.

The game was previously due to release in the US on June 26 and June 29 on PS3, 360 and PC. It'll come to Wii U as a launch title.

However, the release was put into doubt recently when THQ core boss Danny Bilson said in an interview the game wasn't "going to ship it before it’s done."

In a FAQ, Vigil said the delay had nothing to do with aligning the game's release alongside Wii U, but rather to do with the quality of the game.

"The date was shifted to ensure we meet the high quality threshold that we are committed to achieving," it said. "It has nothing to do with any other platform releases."

Exact release dates for each region will come in "days to come".
