Human Head considering sequel to Rune

Cult classic hack and slasher Rune may be set to make a comeback.

"We are considering a sequel to the cult hit classic Rune," Human Head wrote on the original game's official Facebook page.

The page has been running a number of polls about what aspects of Rune's gameplay players enjoyed most, along with a couple of less nebulous references to a sequel - "inspiration music" for a possible follow up, and a poll asking which platform would best suit a sequel.

Fans have indicated their excitement about the project, calling on Human Head to use Kickstarter, and release through Steam and GOG.

Rune, which released in 2000, was Human head's first video game - an action game about vikings with strong Norse mythological themes. It was well-received and enjoys a loyal fan base even now, having been published by the legendary Gathering of Developers, which was later purchased by Take Two and folded into the 2K Games label.

Human Head is rumoured to have the time to develop a Rune sequel, with the future of Prey 2 under doubt.
