CryEngine 3 SDK updated to version 3.4, see it in action

Pretty much a sad video of what i could play if not for consoles.

I still remember Crysis from 2007. direct X11 is the only thing that was missed from that game (because in 2007 Direct X10 was a benchmark). Everything here was already in the game.

But still, good work Crytek.

@2, last time i said that it looked like Crysis and it’s not next gen which is true.
Everything here is Cryengine 2 with Direct X11 and console support. Nothing new.

For someone who know nothing about development whatsoever, when I watched that, I got the “oooh ahh” effect, especially with the water scenes. Then again, I can’t draw my way out of a wet paper sack, let alone conceive of being able to do something like I watched in that video.

Yeah,they really drop the ball with Crysis 2,or should I say they screwed over their fan base:Direct X 11 wasn’t available at launch,other gfx tweaks were basically non existent and the fact that the the game is still not properly patched doesn’t help anyone(not just the PC gamers).Still,I have this foolish hope that with this Crysis 3(which is more likely going to be Crysis 2:Warhead)they will somehow redeem themselfs and I am really curious to see the official announcement on Monday which will most likely include first trailer.

My problem with Crysis 2 was the fact that it wasn’t a sandbox, leave linear exploration for CoD.

@5 agree, Definitely is not going to be sequel that deserves 3 in name
@6 Nope it still have bigger and better looking levels then cod and other military shooters.

@5, Agree with everything you said. Crytek really Screwed their fanbase with Crysis 2 and i remember them saying that: Holy shit, it’s going to be the best game EVAR!

and they failed so hard.

@6, it was not linear it was semi-linear like Half-Life or Halo.

You have a bit of exploration but experience is pretty much linear.

@8, To me, for the most part, it was a corridor shooter.

I think when people start accepting Crytek as a engine developer and not a game developer life will become a lot easier. All of their games have been tech demos.

@10, absolutely not. Far Cry 1 and Crysis 1 was fantastic.

Thats subjective. Crysis 1 was a tech demo the game was shallow and there was no progression the only good thing is that it looked purty. Far Cry 1, would be the only thing I can agree with but that was so many years ago. They make more money in their engine then they do game development.

I agree that it was a tech demo….but it was also an excellent sandbox FPS with a lengthy singleplayer campaign and a quite good enemy AI(which is very difficult to find in FPS these days).

i think that is the PC quality only really no console can run this at least for now ,,,, absolutely good though .

am i the only one who thought Crysis 2 was cryteks best game yet?
i really enjoyed it, especially the console graphics were quite good

@15 It was great game but still isn’t better then original Crysis IMO.

Wish they would make a game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on this engine
